Now, I’m sure Apple is going to compete against Tesla
Apple has released its new Apple CarPlay as part of the iOS update for the iPhone which, for the first time, is not limited to infotainment but fully integrates with the car operation. This smart move confronts Tesla in its own business for the first time.
Last Monday 6th, Apple unleashed, in the inaugural keynote of this year’s World Wide Developer Conference, the updated operating systems for their devices. For the iPhone, this will be version 16.
As part of the new features, iOS16 will greatly improve how its function called CarPlay works. CarPlay is the way an iPhone can connect to your vehicle to replace the brand’s interface with Apple’s, and run the same apps we have in the smartphone, such as navigation, music, podcasts, audiobooks, and many more that can be used while driving.
CarPlay is not compatible with Tesla vehicles
While Apple’s CarPlay functionality is available in 98% of the new cars sold in the US, it is not available in Tesla’s vehicles. The most common explanation for this is that Elon Musk’s company has always wanted to have control of its own software…
