Ordering your Tesla? Find out why only 4 colors to choose from

If you are one lucky Tesla reservation holder or owner, when you decided on your vehicle configuration, you only had the chance to choose between 4 colors besides the standard pearl white multicoat. It’s not casual that Tesla is doing this.

Since the first units of the Model S were available for ordering, the range of options available for Tesla vehicles has been short compared to legacy automakers which like to give their customers a wide range of configurations and options.

Tesla is all about simplicity at this moment. They just have four vehicles for sale and a limited number of options to set up within those.

If you enter the Tesla web configurator, you can just choose a bunch of options such as:

  • Standard or Performance/Plaid
  • Paint color (pearl white, solid black, silver metallic, deep blue, and red)
  • Several wheels depending on model (but just two options)
  • Two or three interior colors (black, white, or cream for the S and X)
  • Seat configuration on Model X and Y
